ALFREDO 
ARANGO

Alfredo Arango is a Colombian-American writer, editor, translator, educator, journalist, and lawyer. He holds a Master's degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from New York University  (NYC) and a degree in Law and Political Science from Universidad Santo Tomás (Bogotá, Colombia)

He has worked as a bilingual (English/Spanish) book editor, writer, translator, and audio narrator with some of the largest publishing companies in the United States.
 
He has worked as a columnist, writer/reporter, copy editor, and editor for several large media companies, including the New York Newsday, El Diario La Prensa and Noticias del Mundo, in New York; and for El Nuevo Herald, Univisión television network, and People en Español magazine, in Miami.

In fiction, Arango has written, among others, The Coqui and Gabriel (short story for children) included in the anthology Under the Storyteller's Spell, Falk-Tales from the Caribbean, published in London by Vincking Kestrel/Penguin Books; Infructuoso Mendoza (novel), published in Miami, Tres tristes cuentos, included in the anthology Colombian Narrators in the USA, published by the Colombian Institute of Culture, in Bogotá. One of his stories was translated into German and included in the anthology Und Traumten Vom Lebem, which covers the work of the best Colombian writers of all times, published by Edition 8 in Zurich.He is the author of the novel En tierra derecha, which covers his interviews with legendary horse-racing commentator El 'Mago' Dávila, published in Bogotá; and the novel Entre ángeles y guerras published in Amazon. He is also coauthor, with poet Juan Lara, of the novel La perniciosa incertidumbre. Memorias de Fermín Donaire, published by Planeta Editores in Colombia to commemorate the Bicentennial of the Latin American Independence. He has written and published literary critic as well.

Arango has also worked as a Bilingual/Spanish Teacher/Instructor with public school systems, community based organizations, universities, and federal agencies, in New York City, Washington D.C., and Miami, Florida.
